Comics Nerd, Book Worm, Cynical Idealist, Mad Historian in Training (WWI and its place in the pop cultures of the major combatants, specifically), Feminist, Whovian, typo-prone, Grrl Dandy, incurable pottymouth, internet-ruining asexual heathen, so-called "Dirty Commy Basturd," and Neurasthenic Farceur. My aim is to study 1900-1950 in Europe and make comics about it, and my general policy is to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. I also greatly enjoy tea.
The downside is that I missed getting to laugh at Eurovision.
The (preferable) bright side is that I was able to handle and examine an actual Lee-Enfield No 1. Mk. III rifle, made by Birmingham Small Arms. Fascinating thing.
Does anyone know of a good site for generating fake Facebook posts?
Ideally one that does not require me to give them all of my actual facebook information.
The one I’ve been using for Euro History Facebook and WWI Facebook, myfakewall.com, is constantly offline.
That awkward moment when you realize just how much of your #Hey Gurl Hey tag consists of pictures of Siegfried Sassoon.

I could say a lot about ‘radscum’, but at least they understand biology.
Dear Radscum: One of tumblr’s fascism fangirls likes your work.
Look at your lives, look at your choices.
How original of you, lord-kitshener.
Gott strafe England.
Tried to go see the WWI memorial in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, but it was in the middle of a construction area. And surrounded by wooden walls.
Welp, next time, I suppose. Although part of the construction, apparently, was to restore two bronze plaques, which had been removed following an attempted theft for the metal, listing the names of MIA/KIA. (I’m honestly wondering how the fuck someone expected to show up at a junk yard with two slabs of bronze covered in names and dates such as “1917” and “1919” and not have someone call shenanigans. Da fuq, bro?)
Anyhow, here’s a photo of what I missed. It’s an interesting piece of sculpture, and interesting to compare/contrast with other WWI memorial pieces that I saw in New York:
